About this Triumph TR3A
According the Standard Motor Company Register and the BMIHT Heritage Certificate, this original RHD Triumph TR3A - Chassis No: TS/69154 was built in Coventry on Wednesday 24th February 1960 and despatched to Triumph dealer Carrs Auto Sales Limited in Croydon, Surrey on 4th March 1960 and first registered on 15th March 1960.
It was originally produced in Powder Blue, but was changed to British Racing Green in 1988 according to the HPi check data.
The car has only had a believed 5 previous owners from new and in the mid 1990's it was owned by a chauffeur at the Haynes Motor Museum and it underwent a full restoration between 2002 and 2007 with various works carried out by the museum along with other specialists, and there are many invoices in the box file for the car for these works and parts obtained for the restoration.
This a very well known car in TR Register circles and it was purchased by Mr Alan Jones the Treasurer for the London Group of the TR Register in May 2014.
During his ownership, he has spent a staggering £50,967 on this car which includes too many new parts to list, but including all new trim, new wire wheels and Blockley tyres, full weather equipment, lots of new mechanical components, wiring, re-chroming and a full Engine rebuild by Crown Classic Cars in St Margarets @ £13,832.36 in February 2024 with 25,067 miles recorded on the speedo. Since then, it has covered a further 5,000 miles.
This car is a 'drivers car' and really is an exceptionally nice to drive and it has been driven on many European trips over the last 11 years.
Cosmetically, there are some paint blemishes and micro blistering on some panels, but it is not a rusty car by any means, and looks like a car that has been built to be driven and enjoyed. Some repainting of a few panels would transform this car into a show contender if deemed necessary, but it is very presentable in its current form.
It comes with a box file full of invoices and history and it includes its Heritage Certificate, ownership history and correspondence plus a stack of workshop manuals and books.
The car is clear on all HPi Registers and is of course classified as an 'Historic Vehicle' meaning it is Road Tax free, MOT exempt and ULEZ compliant.
Upon sale, the car will come with a new MOT, pre-sales service, a 6 Month Warranty and will be ready to drive away.
Delivery can be arranged anywhere in the UK at additional cost if required.
Now available for viewing at our Mortlake showrooms in South West London.
