About this Morgan Plus 8

THE ULTIMATE MORGAN PLUS 8 5.0 LITRE SPORTS

This was a huge project for Morgan specialists 'Revolutions' in Perth, Scotland. They built this Plus 8 into a very fast road car from what was quite a famous racing Morgan Plus 8 which had previously been raced very successfully by currentHistoric Grand Prix Cars Association Chairman Peter Horsman in the Morgan Challenge, with multiple lap records, class victories and outright victories over the years.

Revolutions took in the car in 2021 as a full “Class B” specification racing Plus 8 and the original remit was to rebuild the car as a faster race car for the Scottish Classic race series. Once the build had begun, the remit changed to just being a very fast Road car, so whilst the car has road going cosmetics, it remains mainly a race car underneath.

The original chassis from the race car was powder coated in black and looks as new and the wood frame was also in perfect condition so was cleaned and refitted. It has some very special and unique features including a brand new 5.0 litre (4997cc) Rover V8 Engine from J.E. Developments costing £28K and complete with new down draft Weber Carburettors it produces over 420bhp and 380lbs/ft of Torque and with its twin side-exit racing exhausts, it sounds absolutely fantastic.

The car fully repainted in Ivory White and given a new Maroon leather interior including dashboard, new Maroon hood, tonneau cover, side screens, Maroon wing beading, roll-over bar, new Aluminium Radiator, Aluminium Fuel tank, adjustable Suspension including anti-tramp bars, Performance Brakes all around, five new Plus 8 15" Alloy Wheels with new Avon Efficient Grip 205/60/15 Tyres. As the car has been built and prepared for both the road and track use, it also comes with a set of 6 x Race Alloy Wheels and Tyres.

The current owner purchased the car from Revolutions upon completion on 7th May 2024 and paid £80,600 for the car, but it has been dried stored for much of the last 12 months and he has only driven it 1,175 miles since it was completed.

However, he has spent a further £7,000 since he bought it on various upgrades including a full Race/Checkover/Service by Morgan Service dealer Techniques in Hertfordshire in March 2025 and works included the fitting of a race harness bar and Race Harnesses to both driver and passenger seats, fitted a new Red mohair Soft Top, re-covering both new side screens in Red mohair to match and they also modified the Tonneau cover to fit the new Roll-bar fitted. This is a fantastic opportunity to own a very special Morgan Plus 8 which is in 'As New' condition and it really is something else to drive! A perfect combination for fast road use and track days, plus it can be easily turned into a full race car with the addition of safety features and some racing adjustments to the set up. 

It is of course now classified as an 'Historic Vehicle' meaning it is Road Tax free, MOT exempt and ULEZ compliant.

Upon sale, the car will be given a new MOT, and it will come with a 6 Month Warranty.
