When it was launched in 1996, the Boxster was the best compact roadster you could buy. It wasn't the cheapest, but it delivered everything the Porsche badge promised. The 1997–1999 Porsche Boxster (986) 2.5L is a mid-engine roadster featuring a 2.5-litre water-cooled flat-six engine producing 201–204 hp and 177–181 lb-ft of torque. It launched with a 5-speed Manual or 5 Speed Tiptronic Transmission, achieving 0-60 mph in roughly 6.5-6.9 seconds.
