About this MG MGB

This 1972 MGB MKII Roadster was first registered on 9th March 1972 with the number plate MDT 339K and is finished in the lovely Flame Red with a Black Leather interior, Black carpets, new Black Vinyl Hood and Weather equipment, 1798cc 4 cylinder (18GG) Engine, 4 Speed Gearbox with Overdrive on 3rd/4th Gears, Revotec electric cooling fan, electronic ignition, poly-bushed suspension, stainless steel exhaust system and Stove Enamelled Wire Wheels.

It was completely rebuilt with a new Heritage Body-shell between 1992-1994 by its then owner in Bury St Edmunds with almost all new parts being supplied by the MGB Hive. There is a huge collection of invoices in the file for all parts used and for various repairs + a log of expenditure was kept by the owner from 1992 through to when he sold it in 2002 and this has been continued by the subsequent 3 owners.

The owner from 2009 until 2020 really did go to town on the car and spent a further £15,600 on mostly mechanical works, but including some paint rectification, but most importantly a full engine rebuild in October 2017 @ 42,737 miles with associated works including a new Clutch, new poly-bushed suspension, new shock absorbers, new steering rack, new prop-shaft, electronic ignition, electric cooling fan, Alternator, Water pump, Overdrive overhaul, new brake hoses, rear wheel cylinders and brake shoes and routine servicing during his 11 years of ownership.

The current owner, who purchased the car from us in June 2020 has driven 2,100 miles in the car and has really not had to do very much at all, but it did have a new Fuel Pump fitted by us just prior to sale and he has fitted a new Alternator, a new Oil Cooler, re-carpeted the boot and spare wheel and purchased an MG car cover.

The mileage on the speedometer is now reading 47,652 miles, so the car has only covered 4,915 on the rebuilt Engine and we believe this is the total mileage covered since the car was rebuilt in the mid 1990's when a new speedometer was fitted.

The car is presented in fabulous condition throughout and drives beautifully and it has just been MOT'd which runs until 31st July 2023.

It is of course Road Tax free and MOT exempt being over 40 years old and is ULEZ compliant.

Upon sale it will be given a pre-sales service and checkover and come with our own 6 month Mechanical Warranty which can be upgraded and extended if required.
