About this Mercedes-Benz SL Series
First registered on 1st August 1976 this lovely Mercedes 350SL Sports Convertible is finished in the rare Mercedes Medium Red with a Beige MB Tex interior including rear child seats, an excellent and relatively new Black Mohair Soft top, excellent Factory Hard Top, Power Assisted Steering, Electric Windows, a period Stereo Radio Cassette player, its original 3499cc V8 fuel injected Engine, 3 Speed Automatic Transmission and its original 14" Steel wheels with a set of very good Falken tyres all round and full face polished Chrome Wheel Trims.
The car has had 7 owners during its 45 year life with the last owner having bought the car in July 2010. It has now covered a very low and genuine 62,175 miles from new and comes with lots of old MOT certificates dating back to 1985 confirming the mileage, a clear HPi check and a clear National Mileage Register check plus a few old receipts and tax discs.
This car has obviously been very well maintained during its life time and has been repainted at some point, although we do not know when. It really is in exceptional condition throughout with no visible signs of rust anywhere at all and as far as we can tell, it does not have any of the bulkhead issues that some of these cars can from suffer from. There are a few tiny marks in the paintwork which you might expect on a car of this age, but certainly nothing drastic!
The condition of this car is certainly a testament to the way the car has been cared for by its previous owners and it has without doubt been garaged for most if not all of its life to be in this condition now. It really is a super example and drives beautifully and is a car that can be driven and enjoyed whilst still appreciating in value. As the car is over 40 years old it has Historic Vehicle Status and is therefore Road Tax and MOT exempt + ULEZ free!
The car has been off the road since 2019 and upon sale the car will receive a pre-sales service and new MOT and it will come with our own 6 Month Mechanical Warranty which can be upgraded and extended at additional cost if required.
Please Note: This car is currently back in the owners garage in Essex and not on display at our showrooms, but we can arrange viewings.
