BEAUTIFUL CONDITION THROUGHOUT & HISTORIC VEHICLE STATUS

The R107-series SL was unveiled in 1971, presenting luxury-hungry buyers with stylish interiors, bigger engines and sharper, more contemporary bodywork. Mercedes-Benz’s renowned build quality quickly becomes apparent from the moment you close the door with a satisfying clunk. The 107 chassis was also an incredibly long-lived member of the Mercedes-Benz family, remaining in production until 1989.

After five decades, the R107 SL is still a very fashionable and desirable car, so prices have remained strong and increased significantly in the last couple of years, so find a good example and you should have a surefire investment in the long term.

This beautiful 280SL was supplied new by Mercedes dealer Westway Garage (Hull) Ltd and first registered on 1st October 1982. It is finished in its original colour scheme of Signal Red with a Black/Grey Cloth interior, Black carpets, Black Mohair Soft top, factory Hard Top in Signal Red, Blaupunkt Barcelona DAB Radio/CD Player, 2746cc straight Six Fuel injected Engine, 4 Speed Automatic Transmission, Cruise Control, Electric Windows, Electric Passenger Door Mirror, front Spot Lights and its original 14" Steel Wheels with colour coded Wheel Trims.

The log book shows 6 former keepers in its 42 year life from new, but the truth of the matter is that it was in the same family throughout its entire life until June 2021 when it was sold in auction and we sold it in July 2022 to the current keeper. In essence, this is an unrestored example of an all-original and matching-numbers SL with a fully traceable history right back to the start and you don't find something like that every day. It has now covered a genuine 113,305 miles from new with a full Mercedes Benz main dealer Service History including all its original books and manuals, 3 sets of keys, MOT history and a few invoices for works undertaken, but perhaps most importantly, it has a fully stamped Service Booklet with 17 stamps from the original Mercedes Benz supplying dealer, Westway Garage in Hull (their rear window sticker is still present on the hard top), + Mercedes main dealer Normand in London and the last service by Ferrari and Maserati specialist Scuderia Scaglietti in London @ 106,491 miles.

It is a very original and unmolested car with an excellent interior, a nice Black mohair Soft Top, excellent paintwork and chrome fittings and it drives beautifully. It is now registered as an 'Historic Vehicle' and is therefore Road Tax and MOT exempt and ULEZ exempt!

Upon sale, the car will be serviced and MOT'd and come with our own customer care package including our HPI/provenance Check, 55-point pre-delivery inspection and our own 6 months mechanical breakdown Parts & Labour Warranty which can be upgraded and extended at additional cost if required.
