About this Triumph TR6
This beautiful Triumph TR6 Sports Convertible - Chassis No: CR65300 and Engine No: CR004349HE is an original UK 'Matching Numbers' car and was first registered on 7th May 1975. It is finished in its original colour scheme of Triumph White with a Black Vinyl interior, Black carpets, Black Vinyl Soft Top, Roll-Bar, original Steering Wheel, Wooden Dashboard, 2498cc 125bhp 6 cylinder Engine, 4 Speed Manual Gearbox with Overdrive on 3rd & 4th gears and sitting on its original 15" Dunlop Steel Wheels with a good set of Fulda 185/70/15 Tyres.
This car was purchased by the last owner, a Mr Bernard Hobbs on 2nd March 1979 when it was 4 years old from Caterham Cars in Surrey for £2,250 and with 35,900 miles on the clock. Mr Hobbs kept this car for 43 years before selling it in August 2021 and there is a huge history file containing all invoices for works and parts purchased over the years and MOT certificates from 1991 to the present one carried out in March 2022.
According to the history file, the car was the subject of a body restoration in 2003 by Worcester Classic Cars which included the removal of all wings, replacement panels and a complete repaint of the car in its original Triumph White and in 2013 the engine and gearbox were removed, the engine was completely stripped, rebored and rebuilt with new pistons, bearings, oil pump and shells and the cylinder head was converted to unleaded petrol.
The gearbox was stripped and rebuilt with new parts plus a new clutch assembly and according to the MOT carried out in December 2013 upon completion, the mileage was 42,851 and the car has now covered 43,560 miles, so only 709 miles since the rebuild as it has only covered less than 80 miles per year on average since 2013.
The car has recently been to Triumph TR specialist Enginuity for a full Service, new Fuel Pump, new polyurethane Trailing Arm bushes, tracking and wheels balanced + a new MOT on 11th March 2022. Although the car was repainted back in 2013, it is still really very nice and overall this car is in excellent condition with the benefit of course of an engine and gearbox that have hardly been run-in since being rebuilt and it really is very nice to drive.
Upon sale, the car will come with our own customer care package including our HPI/provenance Check, 55-point pre-delivery inspection and our own 6 months mechanical breakdown Parts & Labour Warranty which can be upgraded and extended at additional cost if required.
Car on display at our showrooms in Mortlake, SW London.
