About this Alfa Romeo GTV
DEPOSIT TAKEN 29/10/2021
The Alfa Romeo 2000 GT Veloce Coupe was based on a shortened Giulia (105) saloon platform. Penned by Giorgetto Giugiaro at Bertone, the Giulia’s clean and distinctive design is considered to be one of the most attractive small coupes of the 1960s and 70s. Alfa Romeo was one of the first manufacturers to put a powerful engine in a lightweight car for mainstream production, making it a forerunner to todays performance Coupe’s.
Powered by Alfa Romeo’s twin cam, all-aluminium, four cylinder 1932cc engine mated to a 5 speed gearbox producing an impressive 132 bhp, this punchy power plant ensured the cars performance was better than many sports cars of the era.
This beautiful Alfa Romeo 2000 GT Veloce - Chassis No: AR2410754 and Engine No: AR0051266139 is an original 'Matching Numbers' car and was assembled by Alfa Romeo in South Africa and first registered on 1st January 1973. It is one of only 4,608 RHD cars built worldwide.
Finished in its original Factory colour scheme of Le Mans Blue with a Beige interior and was completely restored from the ground up in 2007 and has covered less than 5,000 Kms since completion and only 64,432 Kilometers (40,000 miles) from new. The Engine, Brakes, Suspension and all mechanicals were all rebuilt and the interior was recovered with all new parts imported from the UK. All rubbers, weatherstrips, carpets, trim and chrome were replaced and both the interior and the body/paintwork is still in first class condition.
This car really does drive beautifully and its 1962cc twin cam engine and 5 Speed Gearbox are superb. It is genuinely in fantastic overall condition and really does need to be seen and driven to be fully appreciated. RHD versions are rare let alone one in this condition, so we don't expect it to be on sale in showrooms for long!
The car has just been UK registered and given the age related numberplate WWE 235L and prior to sale it will be fully serviced and MOT'd. It will also come with our own standard 6 Month Mechanical Warranty which can be upgraded and extended at additional cost if required.
Car on display @ our showrooms in Mortlake, SW London.
