Porsche 911 2.4 T/E 1972 (L) Yellow
This beautiful LHD Porsche 911 2.4 T/E Coupe - Chassis No: 9113100652 was manufactured in Stuttgart, Germany in October 1972 and exported to the USA. It was supplied by Brumos Porsche in Jacksonville Florida and first registered to a Mr John York of Jacksonville, Florida, on the 12th December 1972.
According to the Porsche letter of Authenticity It is finished in its original build specification of Hellgelb 117 Light Yellow with Black Recaro Seats, 'S Pack, Anti-Roll Bar and Fuchs Alloy Wheels and has a 2341cc Engine, 5 Speed Manual Gearbox, original Steering Wheel, 'Parrot' Telephone/Stereo, CAT 1 Alarm System and original Fuchs Alloy Wheels. The car was also specified with Air Conditioning when new, but this has since been removed.
There is a full history with this car from 1972 including its original Porsche Document wallet, Maintenance Record Book, Pre delivery Inspection report by Brumos along with lots of invoices for works carried out. There is also a log of the car's ownership in the USA including dates and mileages of major repairs carried out through the years and it had 5 owners in the USA before it was sold and exported.
It was imported to the UK from Florida in March 1990 and registered here on 12th April 1990 and the mileage at this time was 136,252 miles. It was purchased by a Mr Ian D Gordon who had homes in Scotland, England, Sweden and France and it was registered in Sweden in May 1990, France in November 1992 and then back to the UK in November 1994.
Mr Gordon kept the car until December 1996 when it was sold to DTR Sportscars in London with the mileage at 149,100.
A completely rebuilt 2.4 'S' specification Engine was purchased from Neil Bainbridge of RSR Porsche in early 1997 and put into the car, but unfortunately there are no invoices relating to this only a large number of photographs of the stripped Engine and a Dynamometer test sheet showing that it produced 202 bhp and 174.8 lbs ft of torque upon testing. The mileage covered at the time was approximately 149,500.
The car was then sold in October 1999 to the next owner in Wimbledon, SW London who kept the car for 4 years until selling it to the current owner in July 2003 when the mileage was 153,120 miles, although only 3,600 miles on the new Engine.
The current owner had the car completely stripped and rebuilt by Ricky Wass of RWR Porsche in 2010 and there is a fully documented and photographed history of this restoration with over 300 photographs including the photo's of the Engine rebuild and in total he has spent almost £40,000 on the car during his ownership.
The mileage on the speedometer is now showing 70,180 miles, so since the Engine rebuild the car has only covered 20,000 miles.
The car is presented in beautiful condition throughout and it really is an exceptional car to drive.
It comes with a Full Service History from 1972 right through to the present day and all invoices for works undertaken are contained in the history file.
Upon sale the car will come with our own customer care package including a new MOT, pre-sales service and a 6 month mechanical warranty that can be extended and upgraded if required.
This really is a stunning car in Hellgelb Yellow and it is a car that can be driven and enjoyed as well as being a good long term investment.
