Fiat 124 Sport Coupe 1971 (K) Silver
The 124 Coupé was designed by Mario Boano, known for designing the bodywork on the Ferrari 250 GT and was based on the Fiat 124 saloon car.
It was produced by Fiat between 1967 and 1975 in three generations, AC, BC and CC. The 4 cylinder aluminum twin overhead cam Engine was designed by ex-Ferrari engineer Aurelio Lampredi and the AC or first generation featured a 1,438 cc engine which grew to 1,608 in the second or BC generation. The third generation or CC was first officially offered with the 1,592 cc and then 1,756 cc.
The BC and CC cars had a 5-speed gearbox, power assisted disc brakes on all 4 wheels, double wishbone front suspension, 2 Weber or Solex carburetors and coil spring suspension. The BC series featured revised styling with twin headlights and revised taillights shared with the Lamborghini Jarama and other options included green tinted windows, Cromodora alloy wheels with chrome centre hub caps, radio, seat headrests, rear windshield electric defrosting and electronic ignition on the CC range.
Recently arrived from Italy and now UK registered - This stunning example, VIN No: 124BC 0185978 was built by Fiat in November 1971 and was first registered in Lecce, Southern Italy on 5th January 1972 and it is finished in its original colour scheme of Silver with a Black interior, Cloth & Vinyl seats, Black carpets, 1608cc Engine, 5 Speed Manual Gearbox and Cromodora Alloy Wheels and comes with its original Jack, Workshop Manual & Drivers Handbook.
We are told that the car was owned from new by a Doctor in Lecce, Southern Italy who sadly passed away in 1986 and it had been dry stored in his garage until being sold by his family in 2015. The condition of this car can only be described as exceptional inside and out, very rust free and original with the exception of a very recent cosmetic exterior respray to freshen it up!
The Engine bay is original and has cleaned up beautifully. We have also been told that it has covered a genuine 52,343 Kms from new, which we feel is correct as the engine and gearbox are excellent and it drives beautifully, although without any Italian history we are unable to confirm this as correct.
The car has just been UK registered and upon sale it will be given a pre-sales service and come with our own 6 Month Mechanical Warranty that can be upgraded and extended at additional cost if sold in the UK.
