Ferrari Testarossa 1990 (G) Red
Development of the Ferrari Testarossa is said to have begun in the early 1980s, when Maranello set out to create a sports car that would replace the Berlinetta Boxer and in1982, Pininfarina was commissioned to design a 12-cylinder Ferrari with side-mounted radiators, GT-level luggage space, and improved comfort.
The finished product arrived two years later as the Ferrari Testarossa and it was the star of the 1984 Paris Motor Show. It quickly became an icon of 1980's retro culture and was made famous in the American TV programme Miami Vice. It instantly became the poster-car of a generation adorning childhood walls well into the 1990's.
The Ferrari Boxer 4943cc horizontally opposed 12 cylinder Engine has four-valves per cylinder (48), Marelli electronic ignition and Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection and is mated to a 5 Speed Manual Gearbox and is capable of producing 390 bhp. The 0 to 60 mph time is an impressive (even by today's standards) 5.4 seconds with a top speed of almost 180 mph (290 km/h).
Ferrari produced 7,177 Testarossa's between 1984 and 1992, but only 438 of the total factory production were RHD cars.
This RHD UK car - VIN: 84128 was supplied new by Ferrari dealer Nigel Mansell Sports Cars Limited in Blandford, Dorset and first registered on 12th March 1990 to its first owner in Wimborne, Dorset. It is finished in Rosso Corsa with a Crema Leather interior and has Air Conditioning, Electric Windows, 2 x Electric Door Mirrors, Power Assisted Steering, Pioneer Stereo/CD Player, original Momo Steering Wheel with an adjustable Steering Column, its original 17" Ferrari Alloy Wheels and it has a 'Tracker' fitted.
It has only covered a genuine 36,500 miles from new with a full Service History and it comes with its original Tool Kit, Ferrari Leather Wallet containing its Ferrari Service Book, Drivers Handbook etc. and there is a separate history file containing lots of invoices and MOT certificates.
The car has only covered 2,000 miles in the last 10 years and has spent most of this time in storage, but it has been regularly serviced and there are 15 stamps in the Service Book with its last service including a Cam Belt change being carried out by Ferrari dealer Carrs in Exeter @ 36,489 miles in October 2016.
The car has been HPi checked by ourselves and it is clear on all registers.
The car is in exceptional condition throughout and drives superbly and it really must be viewed to be fully appreciated. These models are being tipped to be the next Ferrari to increase in value dramatically, so a good investment!
Upon sale it will be given a fresh MOT and pre sales checkover and it will come with a 6 month mechanical Warranty that can be extended and upgraded if required.
