  • Ducati 350 Scrambler 1975 (N) Red

The Ducati Scrambler is a 'Classic' in every sense of the word. It was primarily intended for the American market but was hugely successful in Europe and was one of Ducati's best selling bikes.

The reasons for the Scrambler's commercial success were manifold. It had an excellent frame and an engine that was perfectly suited for its function. It was not the fastest bike of its day, but its general performance and absolutely centered riding position made it one of the most delightful machines of its era.
It was extremely stylish with rounded lines - simultaneously classical and modern and came in bright colors contrasting with the black running gear and chrome components.

The 350 Scrambler was powered by a 340cc SOHC engine that was mated to a five-speed gearbox and it came with a 9.5-1 compression ratio that provided much needed performance improvements to the bike.

    For the Technical:
Engine Type: 4-stroke Single Cylinder, Single overhead camshaft, twin valves Total displacement: 336cc
    Compression ratio: 9.5:1, Power: 24hp @ 8500 rpm
    Carburettor: 2 x Dellorto VHB 29AB with 29mm choke
    Ignition: Coil ignition
Electrical equipment: 6V-70W Alternator and 6 volt 13.5 Ah battery
    Transmission: Five-speed Gearbox
    Clutch: Wet, multi-plate clutch
Frame: Simplex open cradle tubular frame
Front suspension: Front hydraulic telescopic forks
Rear suspension: Swinging arm rear suspension with adjustable shocks
    Brakes: Full width drum brakes
    Final Drive: Chain
    Weight: 132 Kgs
    Top Speed: 81mph (130 kph)

This beautiful Ducati 350 Scrambler was not built in Italy, but was originally built under license by MotoTrans in Barcelona in 1975 and it was first registered in Palma, Majorca, Spain from new and it was still wearing it Palma number plate PM - G 9086 upon arrival here in England.

We are told that it was a one owner bike in Spain before being sold in 2017 when it was taken to Italy for restoration, but we cannot confirm this as all the paperwork and documents for the bike were lost when it was shipped to the new the owner.

It was imported to the UK earlier this year after completion of its cosmetic restoration and after obtaining a dating letter from the Ducati Owners Club and an inspection by the DVLA it has just been registered here with the number plate KPW 943N.

It is in beautiful condition and rides superbly and the indicated 9,699 Kilometers on the Speedometer we are told is its original mileage from new, but again we cannot confirm this as being accurate due to the lack of paperwork.

On display at our showrooms in Mortlake, SW London.
