Bentley Turbo R 1993 (L) Green Dark
Reluctant sale of my beautiful 1993 Bentley Turbo R. I have owned this car sine 2015 and have spent over £10,000 getting all mechanical and cosmetic issues addressed (details on request). It passed the MOT in April with no advisories. It drives extremely well and as far as I am aware it needs nothing.
After buying the car in 2015 I asked my specialist (Wraith Motors) to deal with all mechanical issues they identified. The final bill was for almost £5,000 and included a new starter motor, new ball joint, reconditioning the steering rack, fixing the air conditioning etc, all fluids and filters etc.
Since then the car has done only around 3,000 miles. The MOT in summer 2016 had two advisories: a ball joint (which Wraith confirmed was well within tolerance) and rear axle bearings (which were then adjusted on both sides). The cost of this work plus a new oil pressure switch and oil change was around £1,500. The MOT in summer 2017 had one advisory, for a rear oil damper which I subsequently got replaced. The MOT this April had no advisories!
In addition the car has had the following:
- two recent new front Avon tyres plus full alignment by Jack Barclay
- new radiator reservoir tank
- all door capping wood veneers refurbished
- front seats reconnollised (by an ex-Connolly specialist)
- removal of a very small rust bubble by the rear screen and local repaint (unfortunately the rear screen had to be removed to do this, so not cheap!)
- professional machine polish
I have receipts for all of the above. The car has been 100% reliable; there is a thick file of regular maintenance by the previous owners as well.
This is by far the quietest and most comfortable car I have ever driven but with a surprising turn of speed where appropriate. I'm only selling because I have my eye on something else and I don't have space for both.
This car is a bargain given its condition; they were over £130k when new. I have all service receipts back to 1996, all with main dealers or specialists. This car has been looked after for its whole life and no expense has been spared during my ownership. It comes with original handbook, stamped service book, all invoices and all tools. I will miss it!
Lots more photos available here:
Since these photos were taken the car has had a professional machine polish, the door veneers have been relacquered and the front seats were reconnollised (with the driver's side bolster replaced) so it looks even better.
Any inspection welcome; this is a private sale so no warranties etc. The car is in London NW8 (St Johns Wood). I'm happy to arrange delivery in the UK at cost. Bank transfer or cash on collection; £500 deposit required within 24 hours of end of auction.
Good luck! Please call me if you have any questions. I was leafing through a recent classic car price guide which suggests that a good Turbo R is now worth £25k and an excellent one £40k...
